We were joined on the Popternative show by Katie Douglas who stars in the new Daniel Adams film The Walk which was released in theaters on June 10. The drama chronicles Boston’s 1974 desegregation busing protests and also stars Justin Chatwin, Terrence Howard, Lovie Simone, Anastasiya Mitrunen, Jeremy Piven and Malcolm McDowell.

“The best thing you can do is tell it with empathy […] and shed light on what the outstanding point is here and to me that was zeroing in on the ways that violence is born out of ignorance,” Katie tells us about being in a film that tells a dark true story of history. She also tells us that this film is an important opportunity for viewers to both reflect and learn.

We also discuss her role as Abby in the hit Netflix teen drama series Ginny & Georgia which just recently wrapped up filming season 2. “It was delightful to see people love it, we never could have expected that much,” she says.
