We recently spoke with actress Shay Rudolph who plays Stacey McGill in Netflix‘s comedy-drama series The Baby-Sitters Club, which is based on the novel series of the same name by Ann M. Martin. In our interview, Shay talks about filming the series, what we can expect from season 2, and much more.
When asked about her character, Shay describes Stacey as the following:
I think she’s a really head strong, responsible, very savvy girl. Above all else, she’s just very real. I think at first glance everybody sees her as this picture perfect teenage girl. She has an amazing style, she does everything, she’s great at school, you know all those things you want to achieve in real life. But she’s just a very real human and I think we kind of get to see more of that in season 2. She puts all this pressure on herself to be perfect. […] But she’s just a normal teenage girl and she can’t handle it all.

Shay also discusses playing a character based off a popular book series:
There’s a lot more that you don’t know about them [the characters] – you have to explore that, and I think playing Stacey, or any other character in The Baby-Sitters Club, it’s all there – you just get to walk right into it which is one of the most incredible things.
