
Netflix today revealed the teaser trailer for the upcoming apocalyptic thriller film, Leave The World Behind, which will have its world premiere on Wednesday, October 25th at AFI Fest. The film will be available to stream on Netflix December 8th. Based on the 2020 novel of the same name by Rumaan Alam, Leave The World Behind stars Julia Roberts (Homecoming, Erin Brockovich), Mahershala Ali (Moonlight, True Detective), Ethan Hawke (The Black Phone, The Northman), Myha’la (Dumb Money, Industry), Farrah Mackenzie (United States of Al, Utopia), Charlie Evans (The Park, Everything’s Gonna Be Okay), and Kevin Bacon (City on a Hill, The Woodsman).

Directed and written by Sam Esmail (The Resort, Mr. Robot), with music by Mac Quayle (American Horror Story, Mr. Robot), the film’s logline reads: “A family’s vacation is upended when two strangers arrive at night, seeking refuge from a cyberattack that grows more terrifying by the minute, forcing everyone to come to terms with their places in a collapsing world.”

Sam Esmail, Chad Hamilton, Julia Roberts, Marisa Yeres Gill, and Lisa Gillan serve as producers, with Rumaan Alam as executive producer alongside Barack and Michelle Obama, Tonia Davis, Daniel M. Stillman, and Nick Krishnamurthy.
