We were joined on the Popternative show by Smile 2 star Naomi Scott and director Parker Finn to discuss Smile 2 the highly anticipated sequel to the 2022 horror movie, Smile.
Smile 2 arrived in theaters on October 18 and quickly landed at #1 at he Box Office. According to reports, it had a $23 million Box office opening and earned an 86% Tomatometer rating.
Smile 2 brings a different storyline forward, while still sticking to the creepy plot seen in the first film surrounding the “smiles”. Directed Parker Finn returns for the sequel which follows global pop sensation Skye Riley (Naomi Scott, Aladdin, Anatomy of a Scandal) who starts to experience increasingly terrifying and inexplicable events. Overwhelmed by the escalating horrors and the pressures of fame, Skye is forced to face her dark past to regain control of her life before it spirals out of control.
Smile 2‘s cast also includes Rosemarie DeWitt (The Boys, Little Fires Everywhere), Kyle Gallner (Smile, Interrogation), Lukas Gage (Dead Boy Detectives, The White Lotus), Miles Gutierrez-Riley (I Wish You All the Best, The Wilds), Peter Jacobson (Ray Donovan, House), Raúl Castillo (Army of the Dead, Cassandro), Dylan Gelula (Dream Scenario, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt), and Ray Nicholson (Panic, Mayans M.C.).
