We were joined on the Popternative show by director John R. Leonetti (Annabelle) about his new horror film Lullaby which was released in select theaters and on demand on December 16th. Written by Alex Greenfield and Ben Powell (The Sand), Lullaby stars Oona Chaplin (Avatar: The Way of Water, Game of Thrones), Rámon Rodríguez (Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Affair), Liane Balaban (Covert Affairs, One Week), and Kira Guloien (Women Talking, Glass Houses).

The film follows a new mother who discovers a lullaby in an ancient book and regards the song as a blessing. But her world transforms into a nightmare when the lullaby brings forth the ancient demon Lilith.

In our interview, John talks about his specific goals with Lullaby, how lullabies are inherently creepy, being part of the horror “boom” which has made the genre monumental, working with the great James Wan, and much more.

Watch the interview below.

Lullaby is now available in theaters and on demand.
