HBO’s award-winning series The White Lotus returned for its anticipated second season on Sunday, October 30th. Created by Mike White, the series is set at a tropical resort and spa called White Lotus and follows the exploits of the resort’s guests and employees over the course of a week; usually ending in a tragic death of a mystery person revealed in the final episode.

The White Lotus was initially set to be a limited series, but the success of the show led HBO to continue it as an anthology series that will feature a new cast each season. The first season earned the show 10 Primetime Emmys including Outstanding Limited or Anthology Series, Outstanding Directing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Writing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Murray Bartlett, and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie for Jennifer Coolidge. Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Fred Hechinger, Jake Lacy, Brittany O’Grady, Natasha Rothwell, Sydney Sweeney, Steve Zahn, Lukas Gage, Jolene Purdy, and Kekoa Kekumano were also featured in season one.
