Stranger Things Finale Premieres New Year’s Eve

Netflix just dropped the trailer for the finale episode of Stranger Things and it’s the beginning of the end for Hawkins. The episode will mark the last chapter of the hit series, premiering on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m. PST / 8 p.m. ET, giving fans one final, emotional ride into the Upside Down as the clock counts down to midnight. Fans across the US and Canada also have the opportunity to watch the finale in theaters on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.

In the trailer, we see Hopper tell Eleven, “I need you to fight one last time. Life has been so unfair to you. Your childhood was taken from you, you’ve been attacked, manipulated by terrible people, but you never let it break you.”

We also see some glimpses of what’s ahead. Dustin stares up in disbelief as the sky burns red, and Vecna makes his ominous return through Henry Creel. The moment closes with Hopper’s promise: “Let’s end this, kid.”

The finale will be 2 hours and 8 minutes long. “We were able in Episode 7 to sort of lay it all out before we hit it into the finale. By the time you get to Episode 8, we don’t have to spend any time talking. We’re able to jump right into it,” Matt Duffer tells Tudum.
