We were joined on the Popternative show by Martin Henderson who plays Jack Sheridan in the hit Netflix series, Virgin River. Season 5 recently premiered in September with 10 new episodes followed by 2 Christmas special episodes on November 30th.
When asked about filming the holiday special episodes, Martin says, “We shot those 2 episodes at the very end of season 5 in Vancouver, and by then we were into mid November so it had gotten cold enough that it felt Christmas-y […] but it still had that feeling in the air of wintery holiday season so I think just practically speaking, walking around with gloves on and a scarf and mist coming out of your breath felt very authentic […] it felt good, I really loved that we got back to kind of a more feel-good couple of episodes.”
With a season 6 confirmed by Netflix, we also asked Martin what fans can expect from the upcoming season: “I believe there’s going to be more Mel and Jack, the last conversation I had with the writers, they wanted to have a bit more Mel and Jack in season 6 […] and we do jump forward, one thing that’s cool, we jump forward a little bit in the story for the first time really ever […] you’re gonna see the characters [in] a different stage where they’re at which I think is going to be interesting.”
