Lionsgate today revealed the official trailer for The Strangers: Chapter 1, the first film of the the new The Strangers horror trilogy. It will hit theaters on May 17th, 2024.

Directed by Renny Harlin (Cliffhanger, The Exorcist: The Beginning) and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland (King of the Hill, Due Date) with a story by Bryan Bertino, Chapter 1 stars Madelaine Petsch (Riverdale, Sightless) as a young woman starting a new life with her fiancé played by Froy Gutierrez (Cruel Summer, Hocus Pocus 2). Suddenly, during a road trip stop in a remote vacation rental in the woods, they become the prey of a mysterious gang of masked strangers who attack without warning or reason.

The Strangers: Chapter 1 also stars Gabriel Basso (The Night Agent, The Kings of Summer) and Ema Horvath (The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, What Lies Below).

The official synopsis reads: “After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple (Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez) are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive in The Strangers: Chapter 1, the chilling first entry of this upcoming horror feature film series.”
