We were joined back on the Popternative show by Madeline Zima who joins season 4 of HBO Max‘s critically acclaimed DC superhero series Doom Patrol. Season 4 part 1 premiered on Thursday, December 8th with the first 2 episodes, and reimagines one of DC’s most beloved groups of superheroes: Robotman aka Cliff Steele (voiced by Brendan Fraser), Negative Man aka Larry Trainor (Matt Bomer), Elasti-Woman aka Rita Farr (April Bowlby), Crazy Jane (Diane Guerrero), and Cyborg aka Vic Stone (Joivan Wade). Madeline plays eccentric superhero Space Case aka Casey Brinke who fans get to finally meet this season.
Madeline tells us that it was “terrifying” to join the series and bring a well known comic book character to life: “I’m playing a role that there were several articles about […] for two seasons fans have been like ‘bring Casey Brinke onto the show’, so I did not know what I was stepping into when I auditioned.” She also discusses being the new cast member on set and working with the Doom Patrol cast.
Madeline also shares what it was like working with Jennifer Coolidge on the 2004 teen film A Cinderella Story where Madeline played the mean daughter of Coolidge’s character Fiona.

A new episode of Doom Patrol season 4 part 1 will drop on HBO Max on Thursdays until January 5th, 2023.
