We were joined on the Popternative show by Laura Haddock who stars in Netflix’s new spy series The Recruit which premiered on December 16th. Laura plays former CIA asset Max Meladze alongside Noah Centineo who plays Owen Hendricks, a young CIA lawyer fresh out of law school.
Owen’s job takes a quick turn when he discovers a threatening letter by a former asset named Max Meladze (Laura Haddock). Max says she plans to expose the agency, and provides credible information to prove she isn’t lying, unless they exonerate her of a serious crime. Owen then finds himself involved in the dangerous world of power politics and “travels the world to untangle the truth as the pressure of high-ranking power players threatens his nascent career.“
The series also stars Aarti Mann, Colton Dunn, Fivel Stewart, Daniel Quincy Annoh, Kristian Bruun, Vondie Curtis Hall, Byron Mann, Angel Parker, Kaylah Zander.
In our interview, Laura talks about the various genres blended into The Recruit including drama and thriller mixed in with comedy. She also tells us how she prepared to play Max including practicing a specific accent.
