Scream VI is closing in on being in theaters for two months and is still a heavily talked about film. Premiering back on March 10th, Scream VI was the biggest opening ever for the Scream franchise, bringing in $44.5 million at the domestic box office during its opening weekend. The sixth installment follows Sam (Melissa Barrera), Tara (Jenna Ortega), Mindy (Jasmin Savoy Brown) and Chad (Mason Gooding), the recent survivors of the latest Woodsboro kill spree, starting over in New York City and trying to leave Ghostface behind.

Devyn Nekoda was one of the new cast members who joined the horror franchise as Anika and told Popternative host Petey Beats she had to pause a few times reading the gory script for Scream VI. “Of course, we were all like expecting tons of blood. You have to expect that especially for the sixth movie, but reading the script there were multiple times when I had to put it down and I’m like oh my gosh this is insane. There’s going to be so much blood. It’s just more intense, it’s bloodier.”

Many of Devyn’s on-screen moments happened with Jasmin Savoy Brown playing her love interest, which fans really gravitated towards. The pairing was impactful for Devyn as well. “Jasmin and I clicked instantly, she said, adding, “She’s one of my best friends now. Honestly, she was, I mean all of them were giving me such incredible advice, I will take advice from anybody in the acting industry so they were all great with that, but Jasmin and I definitely had a special bond. I mean a lot of my scenes like you said are with her and yeah, she’s just like one of my favorite people in the entire world.”
