Paramount Pictures today released a new clip from the upcoming primal horror, Primate, set to premiere in theaters on January 9, 2026.

Written by Johannes Roberts (47 Meters Down, The Strangers: Prey at Night) and Ernest Riera (Nowhere, 47 Meters Down), Primate follow a family vacation that spirals into terror when their beloved pet chimpanzee, Ben, contracts rabies and becomes violently unpredictable, forcing them into a desperate fight for survival.

Primate stars Johnny Sequoyah (Dexter: New Blood), Jessica Alexander (The Little Mermaid), Troy Kotsur (CODA), Victoria Wyant (My Fault: London), Gia Hunter (Sherlock & Daughter), Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann (The Watchers), Tienne Simon (All the Devils Are Here), and Miguel Torres Umba (Institute).

In the clip, Lucy and her friends are relaxing in the pool, trying to their vacation, when the mood suddenly shifts. Ben emerges holding a tablet, repeatedly playing a distorted audio clip that chillingly repeats, “Lucy, bad.” As the group realizes something is deeply wrong, Lucy (Sequoyah) quietly says, “he’s not Ben anymore,” moments before Ben launches a sudden attack.
