We were joined on the Popternative show by Guy Remmers and Matthew Broome who star in the new Apple TV+ series, The Buccaneers which premiered November 8th on the streaming platform. Inspired by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Edith Wharton’s final novel of the same title, the series follows a group of young American girls in the 1870s who head to London to find themselves matches. What ensues is a culture clash and it soon becomes apparent that the girls are focused on much more than simply finding husbands.

The Buccaneers also stars Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse, Josie Totah, Mia Threapleton, Christina Hendricks, Josh Dylan, and Barney Fishwick. When Nan (played by Kristine Frøseth) arrives to the United Kingdom, she finds herself falling for two men – Guy Thwarte (played by Matthew Broome) and the Duke of Tintagel, Theo (played by Guy Remmers), who also happen to be best friends.

Throughout the first season, audiences remained torn between who Nan should truly be with. In our interview, we ask Guy Remmers and Matthew Broome about whose team each of them are on (biases aside!). They also discuss filming the series and some of the changes made from the script in certain scenes.
