We were joined on the Popternative show by Jennifer Holland (The Suicide Squad) who reprises her role as Emilia Harcourt in Season 2 of the action comedy superhero series Peacemaker. Season 2 debuted on August 21 on HBO Max and the finale just dropped on October 9.
Season 2 of the DC Studios/Warner Bros. series created by James Gunn (Superman) follows Christopher “Chris” Smith, aka Peacemaker (played by John Cena), the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.
Along with Cena and Holland, returning cast also include Danielle Brooks (The Color Purple), Freddie Stroma (Pitch Perfect), Steve Agee (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2), and Robert Patrick (Reacher), with new cast members Frank Grillo (Tulsa King), David Denman (Bosch: Legacy), Sol Rodriguez (Star Trek: Picard), and Tim Meadows (Mean Girls).
On returning to Season 2 as Emilia, Holland Says, “I was very excited about everything we were going to explore with the character. I love how we get to learn all of the things James [Gunn] and I knew in season one about why Harcourt despised Peacemaker so much in season one, I love that we got to explore that in this season and we got to explore a little but more of her complications and how she is not a perfect, put together person. She’s very complicated, and I had just had an incredible time getting to explore this all in season two.”
