Season 2 of Showtime’s mind-bending thriller series Yellowjackets has introduced viewers to a few new characters, including those in the 90s stuck in the forest. Theater lover Crystal, played by Nuha Jes Izman, made her debut in episode 1 of season 2 which premiered on March 24. Crystal quickly forms a close friendship with Teen Misty (Samantha Hanratty) turning into instant besties as the episodes proceeded.
Nuha Jes Izman joined us on the Popternative show to discuss her audition process for season 2 of Yellowjackets, how she views Crystal’s character, and of course, that CRAZY ending in episode 5.

When episode 5 dropped last week, fans were in for a shocking ending which led to the accidental death of Crystal by Misty. “When I signed on for Yellowjackets, they told me that I was signed on for 5 episodes, so me doing my math, it’s a survival show, there are a little more than 5 episodes, so I’m there going ‘something’s gonna happen,’ but nobody told me, but I kind of had a feeling,” Nuha tells us about what she knew about Crystal’s fate when she first joined the series.
“I think it’s such a beautiful way to kind of help Misty’s character get pushed forward into this new phase of her life. I think when I signed on to the show, I recognized from the get go my part in this show is to help lift Misty up and help her journey from one point of her position in the group and bring her over to this new phase of her life,” she also explains.
