Max today revealed first look images from the upcoming political drama series, The Girls on the Bus, premiering March 14th, 2024 with the first two episodes. A new episode will drop weekly on Thursdays through May 9th. Created by Amy Chozick and Julie Plec, the series is inspired by Chozick’s experiences as a political reporter on campaign buses with multiple presidential candidates.
The Girls on the Bus stars Melissa Benoist (Supergirl, Whiplash), Carla Gugino (The Fall of the House of Usher, Gerald’s Game), Natasha Behnam (Magic Carpet Rides, Diamond in the Rough), Christina Elmore (Insecure, The Last Ship), Brandon Scott (Dead to Me, 13 Reasons Why), with Griffin Dunne (This Is Us, Goliath), Mark Consuelos (Riverdale, All My Children) and Scott Foley (Scandal, Felicity).
Logline: “The Girls on the Bus invites viewers to hit the campaign trail alongside four female journalists, each of them different in their reporting styles and personalities. The story centers on Sadie McCarthy (Melissa Benoist), a journalist who romanticizes a bygone era of campaign reporting and scraps her whole life for a shot at covering a presidential candidate for a paper of record. Sadie joins the bus and eventually bonds with three female competitors, Grace (Carla Gugino), Lola (Natasha Behnam), and Kimberlyn (Christina Elmore). Despite their differences, the women become a found family with a front-row seat to the greatest soap opera in town – the battle for the White House.”
Chozick and Plec serve as executive producers alongside showrunner Rina Mimoun (Mistresses, Superman & Lois), Greg Berlanti (Red, White & Royal Blue, Riverdale), Sarah Schechter (The Flash, Unpregnant), Leigh London Redman (Found, Gotham Knights), and Marcos Siega (You, The Vampire Diaries).
