Since Red, White & Royal Blue premiered on Prime Video on August 11th, the streaming platform has experienced a huge surge of new Prime membership sign ups directly correlated to the film’s release. The film, which is based on Casey McQuiston’s critically acclaimed New York Times best-seller of the same title, currently has a 94% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and is clearly a hit. With the film’s release, McQuiston’s novel even moved to #14 on the Amazon Best Sellers list. The rom-com follows Britain’s Prince Henry, played by Nicholas Galitzine, and Alex Claremont-Diaz, played by Taylor Zakhar Perez, the son of the President of the United States, who have never gotten along in the past. As they are forced to create a positive image for good press, they develop a close friendship which turns into something much deeper than any of them could have imagined.
