For our first digital feature of March 2026, we catch up with Maclean Fish who has been playing the hilarious Jory Jordan for four seaosns now in the hit hockey comedy series Shoresy. Season 5 premiered in Canada on December 25, 2025 on Crave and made its U.S. debut on Hulu on February 21, 2026 with the series already renewed for a sixth season.
Jory first appeared in Season 2 as a young, energetic reporter for the Sudbury Kids Sports Report, quickly becoming a fan favorite character who constantly chirps Shoresy and pokes fun at his age during interviews.
Maclean reflects on Jory’s signature humor, balancing the character’s on-camera persona with his off-camera life, and how playing Jory for several seasons has deepened his appreciation for hockey interviews and podcasts.

How would you describe Jory in Season 5 of Shoresy?
Maclean: He’s the exact same as always, and I think that’s the best part. He doesn’t change. He always remains the little shit disturber that he is, but he definitely gets out in the wild a little bit more, like we saw in season four, which is always exciting. But he’s the same old Jory Jordan as always, and that’s what people love.

How do you balance the hockey focused episodes compared to the non-hockey ones that we’re seeing in Shoresy?
Maclean: It’s relatively easy for my character because he’s not on the ice, but in scenes that he’s not interviewing someone, I do have to put on a little bit of a different character. Jory has a specific persona that he portrays when he’s on-camera, or when he’s talking to his supporters compared to when he’s in everyday life. So, I definitely have to balance those two different characters. But in terms of hockey versus not hockey, it kind of remains the same.
What has been your favorite part about playing this character for five seasons now?
Maclean: Getting to be the funny person, even when Shoresy is on screen. And I think that’s very unique for Jory. I think with Shoresy as a show, Shoresy is the joke 99.9% of the time. And so, there’s only a few moments when Jory or somebody else gets to be the joke, or gets to tell the joke, and Shoresy is the butt end of it. And I think those scenes with Jory are kind of a way to give Jared [Keeso] a break from carrying the load, and that is really fun to do. Getting to make fun of a character like Shoresy is amazing because there’s so much material to work with there.

What was your relationship with and interest in hockey podcasts, and hockey YouTube channels before you got the role of Jory?
Maclean: Very little. It’s definitely grown. I watch a lot more podcasts, interviews, and interviewers now that I play one. And I did watch a lot when preparing for it at first too. I wanted to have that persona, that body language that people have when conducting interviews, the cadence of speech, and all of these different aspects that are common in hockey interviews.

Maclean: I grew up watching hockey interviews all the time, you know, watching NHL games on TV, you see them every intermission, but I never took real interest in it then. So, getting to do that now, but just making it completely hilarious and joking the entire time is pretty special. I watch more now than I did before, and I certainly take more interest in them now too.
