We caught up with Blair Lamora who returns to play Ziigwan in season 3 of the hit hockey comedy series, Shoresy. Season 3 premiered on Crave in Canada May 24th followed by the U.S. premiere today, June 21, on Hulu. A spinoff of Letterkenny, Shoresy centers on the foul-mouthed, chirp-serving, mother-loving, fan favorite character, Shoresy (Jared Keeso), and the Sudbury Blueberry Bulldogs of the Northern Ontario Senior Hockey Organization (The NOSHO), as they continue their quest to never lose again in the National Senior Tournament.

We asked Blair about playing Ziigwan for 3 seasons, some of new Shoresy storylines, filming the scenes in Nat’s office, and more.

Check out our conversation below.

After playing playing Ziigwan for 3 seasons now in Shoresy, what is your favorite thing about her character?

Blair Lamora (BL): Each season with Ziigwan has been a fun dive deeper into who she is. After 3 seasons, I have to say it’s been great seeing how her care shines through her tough exterior. Every season feels as though we get to see Ziig be more of a team player. She stands up for the team, fiercely supports those she cares for, and isn’t scared to show tough love. It’s a side of Ziig that doesn’t get highlighted often but is so sweet when the moments come.

Which character do you think has the best arc this season?

BL: There are a lot of interesting character arcs to explore this season, but I believe Shoresy has the best one. Shoresy’s journey navigating his love for his passion, the way it changes you, and who you are with/without it. It’s an arc that a lot of people will be able to relate to and is such a pleasure to help expand.

What’s it like returning for season 3 filming-wise after a big season 2 for many characters?

BL: It’s exciting to see where the characters pick up. You never know where the story is going to lead your character, especially when there’s time in between seasons. The characters are living it up and larger than life in season 2, so it’s cool to see how they cope with that moving forward into situations that shine a light on what’s really important to them in season 3.

What would you say is one of your favorite storylines about this season? (without big spoilers)

BL: The Nosho record party, hands down. The infamous party that makes everyone not want the team to get that drunk again. The series of events, how it unfolds, and seeing all the different characters and their roles in that night is hilarious! It had me personally howling.

What is something about Nat’s office scenes you can share with us that viewers might not know?

BL: Something that happens every time we’re in Nat’s office is someone is eating gummy bears. There’s a point in season 2 where Nat starts keeping gummy bears on her desk after Sanguinet mentions them in a conversation about The Man Advantage. In between takes you’ll usually find whoever is standing in the office trying to sneak a couple. It’s hard to resist the urge and few do! There are gummy bears on standby for the office days.

Season 3 of Shoresy is streaming on Hulu in the U.S. and on Crave in Canada.
