How excited were you to release your first single?

Samantha: So excited, it didn’t feel real at first. I’d been wanting to release music for the longest time, dreaming about the moment any song of mine would be out in the world. “Down Down Down” was the first real glimpse into this sound and chapter I’ve been building, and hitting “release” felt like finally exhaling after holding my breath for months. It was terrifying and thrilling all at once — but mostly, it was freeing.

What has the reception been so far?

Samantha: Honestly, it’s been overwhelming in the best way. Hearing people say the song made them feel seen, or that they played it on repeat after a breakup — that’s been the most surreal part. I’ve had strangers and friends message me with their interpretations, stories, and videos. It makes me feel like I’m not shouting into the void — like the song has a life of its own now, and that’s wild to witness.

What’s it been like working on more music and putting together your EP?

Samantha: It’s been super emotionally therapeutic. Every session has felt like opening a new little wound and figuring out how to turn it into something beautiful. I’m working on these songs with people I trust deeply, and I think that’s what’s made the process feel so safe and real. This EP is basically a diary of my last few years — heartbreaks, growing pains, reclaiming my voice — and shaping it into a full project has made everything feel worth it.

You also act — did you always know you wanted to do both?

Samantha: Yes! I’ve always felt pulled to both worlds. Acting lets me step into other people’s stories, and music lets me tell my own. They’re really different outlets, but I think they feed the same part of me — the part that craves connection, storytelling, and feeling something deeply. I never wanted to choose between them, and I’m lucky I haven’t had to.

When people listen to your music, what are you hoping they get out of it?

Samantha: I just want people to feel less alone. That’s what music did for me growing up — it let me cry, scream, dance, and feel understood when nothing else made sense. If my songs can give someone a little permission to feel what they’re feeling, or even just help them sing their way through something messy — then I’ve done what I came to do.
