The Southern states have produced numerous country singers throughout the decades and Olivia Faye is the latest talent to come out of Kentucky. Being raised in Murray, Kentucky, Olivia comes from a musical family that has helped nurture her at an early age.
Save My Number
Not every singer gets the chance to have their music video premiere on a big television network, so when her latest video for her single “Save My Number” debuted on CMT, she appreciated the milestone. Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has impeded artists’ music marketing strategies. For example, the music video for “Save My Number” was filmed in 2019 and was supposed to be released over a year ago. Now felt like the opportune time for Olivia to release it on CMT. Furthermore, she doesn’t take an accomplishment like this for granted, as she added “working with such an amazing platform like CMT has already helped me get my foot in the door to some really cool opportunities.”
Olivia Faye on Country Music
There is something about the country music genre that allows it to resonate with its listeners. It’s not just because it is sonically pleasing, but also because of its subject matter Olivia points out, “it’s so good about story-telling and being so relatable.” She is right; most people can identify with enjoying a sunset, having a beer and love hearing it about it while a guitar strums. It is no surprise seeing Olivia use country music as a vehicle to tell stories as she has been immersed in the genre since she began her career at 12 years old. Even though she resides in Nashville now, she acknowledges that the city has a reputation as a country music hub, but was quick to suggest that Nashville is a music city in general as it has become a melting pot for different cultures and genres.
