Canadian musician and singer-songwriter JP Saxe recently joined Popternative to talk all things music. The Toronto-native’s new album, Dangerous Levels of Introspection, is officially out now via Arista Records. The album contains 13 tracks including the smash hit “If The World Was Ending” featuring Julia Michaels. In the interview (below), we talk about being a genre-bending artist, and lots more.
Dangerous Levels of Introspection
When asked about the album’s reception, JP hilariously says “It still blows my mind that people can listen to my music in rooms that I’m not in.” For JP, the point of emphasis during his creative process is finding the right words, “The driving force of my song writing is lyricism and I find that the consistency in my writing is the lyrics.” As a result, he feels that his strong penmanship allows him to explore different sounds sonically.
