In modern music, I like to think we’ve crossed a threshold where we no longer have to limit an artist or a group to one specific genre. The synthesis of musical elements across all genres is more widely acceptable compared to the past. The innovation of new sounds is meant to be celebrated. That is what we’re doing with Australian music group Chase Atlantic. Their artistic virtuosity is on full display for the world to see.
Chase Atlantic
The trio formed in 2014 and have been riding the waves ever since. In our interview with Chase Atlantic, our host Petey Beats brought up the topic of the group’s genre-bending music and they said “Subconsciously, we just put all the things we like from different genres and put them together.” That sums up how the creative process should be.
Due to the obvious difficulties surrounding the pandemic, musicians across the world are struggling to find ways to maintain their interactions with their fanbase. To satisfy the appetite of their hungry fans, Chase Atlantic performed via live stream through their website on February 20, 2021. When asked about their live stream, they responded “It’s the best way to show them that we care and reward them with something, rather than nothing.” It’s always refreshing to see artists who value their fanbase.
BEAUTY IN DEATH
Their upcoming album, BEAUTY IN DEATH, is set to be released on March 5, 2021. The album’s single, “SLIDE”, came out on January 29, 2021 alongside the music video (below). You can pre-order/pre-save the album here.
Petey Beats probed to see what listeners can expect from Chase Atlantic’s album and without trying to give away too much, they described it as “ominous new-school”. It was also noteworthy when the band mentioned that the album will continue to blend genres in ways we’ve never seen before. The range of sounds will all be original; they do not go around collecting beats from other music producers.
