We had the chance to chat with LA-based artist Lexxi Saal about her new cinematic single “Bang”.
Check out what she had to say about her music.
When did you decide that music is what you wanted to do?
LS: Writing and singing just give me a feeling of light and purpose. I feel the most me when I’m tracking vocals or writing a song. I was about 13 years old and touring when I realized that this is what I was meant to do. I got serious during my years studying and growing at Berklee College of Music, it was then when I knew that I wanted to make this my career.
What can you tell us about your new single “Bang”?
LS: “Bang” is a song that I just let go while writing. It has an old school meets modern r&b pop vibes. It’s badass, empowering and a feel good concept that needed to be written.
What has been the coolest moment that has happened to you so far during your music career?
LS: Having the opportunity to attend one of the top music schools in the world; Berklee College of Music is most definitely the coolest moment that has happened to me so far. I got to meet such talented producers and writers that I to this day get to create with. I have had successful song cuts and placements with some of these producers and writers.
How would you describe your sound?
LS: My sound has an old school, grit, soul, powerhouse style to it. I am all about getting the best vocals I can get in a recording.
When people listen to your music, what are you hoping they get out of it?
LS: I just want people to appreciate the music and relate to it in their special way. We all have a story and it’s so powerful that we have music to help us tell it.
Who were some musical influences on you growing you?
LS: I am inspired by Amy Winehouse, Leon Bridges, and Louis Armstrong. WHAT SOUL.
