How excited are you to release new music?
It’s exactly like the excitement of waiting for your crush to scoop you to go on a date to the skate park. I’m so excited to see my crush, but I’m nervous I’m gonna fuck everything up, and I’m realllly nervous about skating in front of all the really sick skaters at the park. Now, if my crush happens to fall off a grind rail and sprains his ankle in front of everyone I am going to die of embarrassment, but I’ll still act like I’m proud of him and keep loving him anyways, because he’s MY shitty little skater crush. I know this feeling very vividly because it actually happened.
When people listen to your music, what are you hoping they get out of it?
The feeling that everything is going to be okay, and that it’s ok to mess up, just be you and do your best, and that’s the best we can do. Freedom to just be themselves and do whatever makes them happy.
Who would you say are some of your musical influences?
There’s way too many at this point, I’ve just been tweaking on Prince, Beck and Cyndi Lauper lately.
What advice would you give to aspiring musicians
Well, to the musicians who really love music and are trying to learn I would say just don’t stop and don’t be afraid to invest your time and money into it, and to make things you really love to listen to and are really proud to play out loud.
Can you describe your creative process when you’re writing new music?
Just got to get inspired by life, and go to my studio real quick before I lose interest.
