We chatted with emerging alternative rock artist K4LEE who recently dropped a new single, “FADED MEMORY,” out now on all streaming platforms. Check out what she had to say below.
How excited are you to release your new music?
Every release day is so exciting for me! I feel like with each release, my listeners get to know a new side of who I am as a person and as an artist!
Being a new artist, what advice would you give to aspiring musicians?
Even though I’m a new artist myself, if I’ve learned one thing so far it’s that you have to work hard. My passion in life is music, so the work I put into being a musician comes easy because I love doing it.
What is your favorite song to perform live?
Though I haven’t performed live yet, I’d say I’m most excited about playing my newest single ‘FADED MEMORY‘! It’s probably the most upbeat song I have in my catalog so far. I do perform in front of my bathroom mirror and I can tell you that I can’t wait until I’m looking out to a crowd of people in front of me for a change!
Can you describe your creative process when you’re writing new music?
Sometimes writing a song can take me a few minutes, or a few weeks for me to finish working on it. I like to be alone when I’m writing usually, it keeps me focused and helps me have a clear mind when I’m writing.
What has been the best advice someone’s given you about music?
My friend and my mastering engineer, Julian Comeau of Loveless, once told me to always trust your gut when it comes to the way you want your music to sound. If it’s your music, you want it to be as authentically ‘you’ as possible!
Which musician(s) would you like to collaborate with in the future?
A dream collaboration of mine would either be Miley Cyrus or Joan Jett, they’re two of my biggest inspirations!
