We had the chance to chat with musician Justin Magnaye about his new EP Identity Crisis which is out now on streaming patforms.

Check out what Justin had to say about his new music.

What can you tell us about this new EP?

JM: Identity Crisis is a 6 song project that deals with not knowing what route I want to go go in my future. I’ve always hated the fact I couldn’t stay in one genre, but now, where I am in life, I’ve learned to embrace who I am and that no genre can limit me. And that works in life too. I embrace who I am as a person and individual, and I accept all of my flaws, so I want to show that I’m finally proud of all my flaws and that I want to grow from my mistakes, no matter how small they are.

When people listen to your music, what are you hoping they get out of it?

JM: When people listen to my music I want them to feel great about themselves, and that there are people out there who feel exactly how they do and they aren’t alone. I try my best to convey that message through every song I write.

Talk a bit about your most recent collabs with Phoneboy

JM: Phoneboy and I are great friends. We help each other grow musically by sending each other rough drafts of songs and critiquing ourselves through the opinions we have. They are a huge inspiration to this project and it would not have happened without them. They are a one of a kind band, and I support them through thick and thin.
