We recently spoke with Los Angeles-based Indie-pop artist Ginesse about her music including her latest single, “Gatorade.” Check out what she had to say below.
How excited are you to release “Gatorade”?
Pretty freaking excited! I’m always nervous too, of course. I hope the song makes people get into their feels in the car and drive a little faster!
What can you tell us about this new single?
I wrote “Gatorade” with Matias Mora and Mia Minichiello. It was written, produced and mastered during COVID and we also shot the video during that time too.

Who are some artists you look up to musically?
Kate Bush, FKA Twigs, and PJ Harvey, just to name a few!
What are you hoping people get out of listening to your music?
Somewhere to dance and free within themselves. For me, there’s nothing like a song that knows exactly how you feel.
Talk about some goals you have set for yourself as an artist.
I like to set mini goals, it makes things more approachable for me, I have a hard time with future plans so I like to take it one step at a time.
You are considered to be Indie-pop – what is Indie-pop in your opinion?
I think it’s an independent artist who is making left-of-center type pop music!
What do you think about genre bending happening in music right now?
I’m all for it! Genres are overrated anyway.
