Just two days ago, Fox cancelled three of their comedies including Brooklyn Nine-Nine and fans were not happy with the decision. Twitter and Instagram users began a petition calling for the series to continue using #SaveBB99. Director Guillermo del Toro also commented on his disappointment in the decision to cancel the series
Brooklyn Nine-Nine has given us fully human characters, beautiful, powerful, flawed, vulnerable, majestic… In whichever form, B99 must return. It will. And I will be there to watch. And, it is my hope that I hope that, this time, a lot more people do too.

The series received a 13-episode order from NBC for its sixth season, and chairman of NBC Entertainment, Robert Greenblatt commented: “Ever since we sold this show to Fox I’ve regretted letting it get away, and it’s high time it came back to its rightful home.” The fifth season will wrap up on May 20.
