We were joined on the Popternative show by Cody Quistad, guitarist and vocalist of the metal band Wage War. The Florida band also comprises of Briton Bond on lead vocals, Seth Blake on lead guitar, Chris Gaylord on bass, and Stephen Kluesener on drums.
Wage War is currently on tour and supporting Canadian alt-metal band Three Days Grace and Danish rock band Volbeat across Canada.
Lead vocalist Adam Gontier has also re-joined Three Days Grace for this new tour. “We couldn’t be more stoked to be out with Volbeat and Three Days [Grace], especially Three Days with Adam. We toured with Three Days in 2022 when it was with Matt [Walst] and that was a blast too so I think it’s going to be a good time,” Cody tells us.
Wage War’s sound has been described as “pummeling metallic onslaught with unshakable melodies,” and when asked about balancing those catchy melodies with deep lyrics, Cody says, “That’s the lock and key; trying to make both things happen at the same time, and sometimes they do and sometimes they don’t. It’s just something that you keep chasing. Lyrics are super important to us and they always have been and so is melody. So, finding where those two things intersect is the never-ending game, and we’ll probably chase it for the rest of our lives.”
