Netflix today announced the rest of the cast for the live-action series Scooby-Doo: Origins, which is now in production in Atlanta, and will debut on Netflix in 2027.
Joining the series are Rusty Schwimmer (The Pitt, Righteous Gemstones), Sara Gilbert (The Connors, The Big Bang Theory), Peter Macon (Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, The Orville), Maxwell Simkins (Shifting Gears, The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), Jona Xiao (Hightown, The Glory), Dani Deetté (For All Mankind, On Swift Horses), Elysée Sanvillé (72 Hours), Alex Isles (Chowchilla, Normal with a Capitol N), Avery Kristen Pohl (General Hospital, Never Have I Ever), Pamela Mitchell (1883, Perry Mason), Ross Kimball (Jury Duty, Masterminds), , Wynn Everett (Chad Powers, She Dances), Sauriyan Sapkota (The Midnight Club, House of Usher), Bruce McGill (Lioness, Reacher), and Sherilyn Fenn (Twin Peaks, Shining Vale).
Previously announced cast includes Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space, The Bondsman) as Fred Jones, Mckenna Grace (The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping, Regretting You) as Daphne Blake, Tanner Hagen (The Pitt, Dark Light) as Shaggy Rogersl, Abby Ryder Fortson (Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret, Carousel) as Velma Dinkley, and Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird, Richard Jewell) in a yet-to-be announced role.
Scooby-Doo: Origins marks the first time in the Scooby-Doo franchise that the character of Scooby-Doo will be portrayed by a real Great Dane dog.
The series is a modern reimagining of the iconic mystery-solving group of teens and their very special dog. During their final summer at camp, old friends Shaggy and Daphne get embroiled in a haunting mystery surrounding a lonely lost Great Dane puppy that may have been a witness to a supernatural murder. Together with the pragmatic and scientific townie, Velma, and the strange, but ever so handsome new kid, Freddy, they set out to solve the case that is pulling each of them into a creepy nightmare that threatens to expose all of their secrets.
