Swedish actor Fabian Penje joined us back on the Popternative show to discuss season 2 of the hit teen drama series Young Royals on Netflix. The coming-of-age series returned on November 1st on Netflix with all 6 episodes. The series, which premiered on July 1st, 2021, follows Prince Wilhelm (Edvin Ryding) at fictional boarding school Hillerska in Sweden where he is able to truly self-explore away from his royal duties and meets Simon (Omar Rudberg). Season 1 ended with a public scandal leaving Wilhelm and Simon’s relationship up in the air.
Malte Gårdinger, Frida Argento, Nikita Uggla, Felicia Truedsson, Carmen Gloria Pérez, Ivar Forsling, and Nathalie Varli are also featured in the series. Fabian plays Henry, a fellow student at Hillerska who we were introduced to back in season 1. In our interview, Fabian discusses how he got more screen time this season and that his character is key in creating awkward (and funny) situations for Wilhelm and the other students.
