HBO today revealed a teaser trailer and new photos for the new original limited series The Regime, starring Kate Winslet (Mare of Easttown, The Reader), written by Will Tracy (The Menu, Succession) and directed by Stephen Frears (State of the Union, The Queen) and Jessica Hobbs (The Crown, Broadchurch).

The six-episode series will premiere Sunday, March 3rd, 2024 from 9:00-10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will also be available to stream on Max. The synopsis reads that it “tells the story of one year within the walls of the palace of a modern European regime as it begins to unravel.”

The series also stars Matthias Schoenaerts (Red Sparrow, Rust and Bone), Guillaume Gallienne (Me, Myself and Mum, Marie Antoinette), Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie, Possessor), Martha Plimpton (A Town Called Malice, Raising Hope), and Hugh Grant (Wonka, The Undoing).

Executive producers are Will Tracy, who also serves as showrunner and writer, Frank Rich, Tracey Seaward, Kate Winslet, Stephen Frears and Jessica Hobbs. Writers are Seth Reiss, Sarah DeLappe, Gary Shteyngart and Jen Spyra.
