
We caught up with the cast of Young Sherlock to talk about bringing a new version of the iconic detective to life in the new Prime Video series. Starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin (After franchise), Dónal Finn (The Wheel of Time), Max Irons (Condor), Zine Tseng (3 Body Problem), Joseph Fiennes (The Handmaid’s Tale), Natascha McElhone (Hotel Portofino), and Colin Firth (The King’s Speech), the series prmiered on March 4.
From Guy Ritchie, the action-packed mystery series is set in 1870s Oxford explores the early beginnings of legendary sleuth Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) when he is 19-years-old.
When a clever but headstrong young Sherlock crosses paths with the cunning and dangerous James Moriarty (Dónal Finn) he’s drawn into a deadly murder investigation that threatens his freedom. What begins as his first case soon spirals into an international conspiracy set against the backdrop of Victorian England. Sherlock receives guidance from his older brother Mycroft (Max Irons), who helps him navigate the situations he finds himself in. Along the way, Sherlock befriends Princess Gulun Shou’an (Zine Tseng).
Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Max Irons, Zine Tseng, and Dónal Finn discuss preparing for their roles and working with director Guy Ritchie’s fast-paced style. They also highlight the show’s immersive approach, focusing on character authenticity and letting the audience experience the mystery alongside the detective.
