Shows Making Their Return in January 2026
The new year will start off strong for TV fans. January 2026 brings the return of several fan-favorite series, with long-awaited new seasons. From a high-stakes thriller to a beloved period romance, here are five popular TV shows making their comeback this January you won’t want to miss.
The Hunting Party, Season 2: January 8 (NBC/Peacock)
The Hunting Party is a procedural crime drama series that premiered in January 2025, starring Melissa Roxburgh (Manifest Tracker), Nick Wechsler (Revenge, Roswell), Patrick Sabongui (The Flash, Godzilla), Josh McKenzie (La Brea, Filthy Rich), and Sara Garcia (The Flash, Ride).
The series follows an elite team of investigators brought together to track down and capture the most dangerous killers ever held by the U.S. government: criminals who have escaped from a clandestine prison, known as ‘The Pit,’ so secret it was never meant to exist.
In Season 2, many of the Pit’s most dangerous inmates remain at large. Episode 1 will introduces a chilling new threat in Ron Simms, known as The Boogeyman, portrayed by guest star Eric McCormack (Travelers, Will & Grace). Adding a personal layer to the story, McCormack’s son, Finnigan McCormack, makes his screen debut portraying a younger version of Simms in flashbacks.
Season 2 also features guest stars Niecy Nash-Betts (Claws, All’s Fair), Elizabeth Gillies (Dynasty, Victorious), Kelsey Grammer (Fraser, Cheers), and Jefferson White (Yellowstone, Civil War).
The Pitt, Season 2: January 8 (HBO Max)
The Pitt, HBO’s acclaimed medical drama, returns one year after its January 2025 debut, riding high after an exceptional showing at the Emmy Awards. The series earned five wins, including Outstanding Drama Series, along with acting honors for Noah Wyle (Lead Actor), Katherine LaNasa (Supporting Actress), and Shawn Hatosy (Guest Actor), as well as an Emmy for Outstanding Casting.
Set in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, The Pitt offers a look at the pressures facing healthcare workers in America today. The series unfolds over the course of a single emergency room shift, with each episode representing one hour of the day, a bold choice that brings realism and emotional intensity to every moment.
Season 2 sees the return of its ensemble cast, led by Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch, alongside Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon, Katherine LaNasa as Charge Nurse Dana Evans, Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan, Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay, Taylor Dearden as Dr. King, Isa Briones as Dr. Santos, Gerran Howell as Whitaker, Shabana Azeez as Javadi, and Sepideh Moafi joining the new season as Dr. Al-Hashimi.
Tell Me Lies, Season 3: January 13 (Hulu/Disney+)
Tell Me Lies is set to return this January with its highly anticipated third season, and the newly released trailer hints at even darker drama and toxic storylines. Grace Van Patten reprises her role as Lucy, joined once again by Jackson White as Stephen DeMarco, one of television’s most hated characters.
Told through flashbacks to their college years in the early 2000s, the new season sees Lucy and Stephen drawn back to each other once again despite the disastrous fallout of their previous year. As their volatile relationship reignites, the consequences ripple outward, forcing their friends to confront their own destructive patterns. With scandalous secrets spreading across campus, the stakes rise and repercussions threaten Lucy and everyone around her.
The Season 3 cast also includes Cat Missal, Spencer House, Sonia Mena, Branden Cook, Alicia Crowder. new cast member Costa D’Angelo, and the return of Tom Ellis who joined the series in Season 2.
Hijack, Season 2: January 14 (Apple TV)
The Idris Elba-led thriller series Hijack is set to return this January on Apple TV with its second season, following its debut in June 2023. This time, the tension shifts to Berlin, where an underground train and its passengers are taken hostage, plunging authorities into a race against time. Once again, Sam Nelson (Elba) finds himself at the center of the unfolding crisis, navigating a volatile situation in which a single misstep could cost hundreds of lives.
Season two sees the return of its ensemble including Elba, Christine Adams, Max Beesley, and Archie Panjabi, along with new cast members Christian Näthe, Clare-Hope Ashitey, Lisa Vicari, Toby Jones, Karima McAdams. and Christiane Paul.
Bridgerton, Season 4, Part 1: January 29 (Netflix)
Netflix’s hit romance series Bridgerton is officially set to return in 2026, with its highly anticipated fourth season arriving in two parts. Part 1 premieres on January 29, 2026, followed by Part 2 on February 26. This season shifts the spotlight to Benedict Bridgerton (Luke Thompson), the family’s second son, who has long resisted settling down, until a chance encounter with a mysterious Lady in Silver (Yerin Ha) at his mother’s lavish masquerade ball changes everything.
That woman is Sophie Beckett, a young woman forced to work as a maid for one of the ton’s most demanding households. Sophie’s determination never stops, and her life takes a dramatic turn when she disguises herself to attend Violet Bridgerton’s masquerade and has a chance meeting with Benedict. Their romance unfolds against the backdrop of Benedict’s changing view on love, influenced by the marriages of his siblings, including Francesca’s union with John Stirling and Colin’s marriage to Penelope, who must now navigate society as a publicly revealed gossip columnist.
Inspired by Julia Quinn’s An Offer From a Gentleman, the third book in the Bridgerton series, Season 4 will be a Cinderella-style love story. And while this chapter centers on Benedict, it won’t be the end of the Bridgerton saga. Netflix has already renewed the series for fifth and sixth seasons.
