We recently spoke with Canadian actress Momona Tamada on the Popternative show who currently plays Claudia Kishi in Netflix’s The Baby-Sitters Club. The show is based on the novel series of the same name by Ann M. Martin. Season 2 was recently released on October 11, 2021. In our interview, we discuss the growth of Claudia’s character in season 2, preparing for the role, working with Netflix, and the global fans of The Baby-Sitters Club.
Momona goes into detail about bringing Claudia to life on-sceen:
“Playing Claudia has been a journey for sure; she’s a very interesting character, so being able to dive into her and how she would kind of present these certain emotions was really fun. But also […] a challenge as well especially in season 2 we see this deeper side to Claudia. Although I kind of got used to playing this fun, bubbly side of her, I also had to tap into what it would be like when she was being more emotional, so that was a lot of fun to get to play around with that.“
She also discusses working with the cast of the series: “Our friendship is very rare; we just all of us clicked. […] I think the relationship that all of us share is very special and kind of irreplaceable.”
