We recently had the chance to talk to American actor and author Matty Cardarople on the Popternative podcast. The New Hampshire native is known for his roles in Stranger Things, A Series of Unfortunate Events, and Jurassic World. On July 17, 2021, he will be releasing his very own poetry book titled Happy Birthday Everyday. In the interview, we talk about his acting career, being an author and more.
Happy Birthday Everyday
When asked about the motivation behind his book Matty said, “I love words. Putting words together” and added “It was my first love.” In the interview, he would go on to grace us by reciting one of his poems from the book. As he was writing his poems, he tried not to limit his creativity by following guidelines and rules. Matty uses poetry as a vehicle for expressing himself he says, “That’s the thing about poetry. There are no rules. You don’t have to worry about punctuation.”
Here’s Matty’s description of the book: “After a near death experience I wrote this poetry book about the importance of being alive, following your dreams, and being a goof. The book also features some of my original drawings.”
