We got to chat with José María Yázpik and Carlo Bernard on the Popternative show about season 3 of Narcos: Mexico dropping November 5th on Netflix.
Narcos: Mexico Official Synopsis
Set in the 90s, when the globalization of the drug business ignites, Season 3 examines the war that breaks out after Felix’s arrest. As newly independent cartels struggle to survive political upheaval and escalating violence, a new generation of Mexican kingpins emerge. But in this war, truth is the first casualty – and every arrest, murder and take-done only pushes real victory further away…
Creator and writer Carlo Bernad talks about all the elements he wanted to incorporate for this season, including dynamic, hard hitting storylines, as well as new, compelling, and misunderstood characters.
José María Yázpik, who plays Amado, is excited for everyone to see how his character’s storyline develops in season 3. He speaks a bit about what it was like playing Amado this season:
In this season, Amado has more of a emotional complexity than last season.. it’s just trying to play a real person. That’s the challenge every time.
