Jennifer Lopez is very busy as she just released a new album, a new movie about the album, and a documentary about the movie that focuses on the album. And very soon, fans will see the 54-year-old actress, singer and dancer in the new film Unstoppable about wrestling star Anthony Robles where Lopez will star opposite Jharrel Jerome (Full Circle, Moonlight). Don Cheadle (House of Lies, Hotel Rwanda), Michael Peña (A Million Miles Away, Narcos: Mexico) and Bobby Cannavale (The Watcher, Blue Jasmine) are also part of the cast, while Matt Damon and Lopez’s husband Ben Affleck (Air, The Last Duel) are two of the producers.

Robles is a wrestler who won the NCAA individual national championship in 2011. He was born with only one leg and grew up in an abusive home. But the challenges he faced when he was younger only made him stronger, winning two state championships in high school and becoming a national champion and three-time All-American at Arizona State. Robles wrote the book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion with Austin Murphy, and is a producer on the film.

Lopez plays Judy Robles, the mother of Anthony Robles who is played by Jerome. Filming began in May of last year, but was put on hold a couple of weeks later due to the writer’s strike. Filming resumed on Dec. 12 after the SAG-AFTRA strike ended, and production wrapped on Jan. 14 of this year.

Unstoppable is directed by William Goldenberg who is making his directorial debut. The movie will be distributed by Amazon MGM Studios and does not yet have an official release date.
