Focus Features today released a new trailer for the upcoming musical dramedy, The Ballad of Wallis Island starring Tom Basden (After Life, Plebs), Carey Mulligan (Promising Young Woman, Shame), Tim Key (See How They Run, Alan Partridge), Sian Clifford (Life After Life, Fleabag), and Akemnji Ndifornyen (Black Ops, Doctors).
The film will premiere in theaters on Friday, March 28. Tom Basden and Tim Key co-wrote the script, and is produced by Rupert Majendie (Brian and Charles, Brian and Maggie).
Directec by James Griffiths (Bad Sisters, A Million Little Things), The Ballad of Wallis Island follows Charles (Tim Key), an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island and dreams of getting his favorite musicians, McGwyer Mortimer (Tom Basden and Carey Mulligan) back together. His fantasy turns into reality when the bandmates and former lovers accept his invitation to play a private show at his home on Wallis Island. Old tensions resurface as Charles tries desperately to salvage his dream gig.
