Netflix today debuted the key trailer for Squid Game season 2 which will premiere December 26. Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) returns, locked in a tense battle with the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun). As new games unfold, the stakes grow deadlier, and Gi-hun’s mission to end the games once and for all takes center stage. Will he succeed, or will the system claim even more victims? Netflix also announced that the third and final season of Squid Game will premiere in 2025.
Official season 2 synopsis: “Three years after winning Squid Game, Player 456 gave up going to the states and comes back with a new resolution in his mind. Gi-hun once again dives into the mysterious survival game, starting another life-or-death game with new participants gathered to win the prize of 45.6 billion won. Director Hwang Dong-hyuk, who made history at the 74th Primetime Emmys® becoming the first Asian to win Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, once again helms the series as director, writer, and producer.”
Lee Jung-jae, Lee Byung-hun, Wi Ha-jun, and Gong Yoo reprise their roles from Season 1 with an list of new cast members including Yim Si-wan (Misaeng), Kang Ha-neul (Love Reset), Park Gyu-young (A Good Day to Be a Dog), Lee Jin-uk (Sweet Home), Park Sung-hoon (Into the Ring), Yang Dong-geun (Wild Card), Kang Ae-sim (Queen of Divorce), Lee David (Gremlin), Choi Seung-hyun (Ailiseu), Roh Jae-won (Such a Close Traitor), Jo Yu-ri (Mimicus), and Won Ji-an (If You Wish Upon Me).
