Netflix today released the official trailer for Virgin River Season 6 which will launch on December 19. Season 6 will feature the long-awaited wedding of Mel and Jack. Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith tells Tudum, “We’re trying to hit all the milestones of the pre-wedding planning, the bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner.”
This season will also introduce Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day) and Callum Kerr (One Piece) as a young Sarah and Everett (Mel’s parents) in flashbacks as they meet and fall in love in the 1970s.
In October, Netflix renewed Virgin River for season 7.
Season 6 series regulars are Alexandra Breckenridge, Martin Henderson, Tim Matheson, Annette O’Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Zibby Allen, Sarah Dugdale, Marco Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, Kandyse McClure, and Mark Ghanime.
Martin Henderson directed episode 608, marking his directorial debut.
Virgin River Season 6 Synopsis: “Against the backdrop of Mel and Jack’s romantic spring wedding season, this sixth installment promises fresh twists and turns, escalating love triangles, delightful wedding drama, as well as uncovered secrets from Mel’s father’s past which will transport us to the magic and mystique of Virgin River in the 1970s.”
Tudum also confirmed hat there will be one new face in town as showrunner Patrick Sean Smith teases, “The big new mystery character this season is Mel’s biological father, Everett Reid, who is carrying a long-held secret.”
