HBO Max today dropped the official trailer for the highly anticipated prequel series, IT: Welcome to Derry, set in the world of Stephen King’s IT universe. Based on King’s IT, novel the series expands the vision established by filmmaker Andy Muschietti in the feature films IT and IT Chapter Two.
IT: Welcome to Derry will premiere on Sunday, October 26 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on HBO Max. New episodes of the eight-episode season will debut weekly leading up to the season finale on Sunday, December 14.
Bill Skarsgård reprises his role as the terrifying Pennywise from IT and IT Chapter Two, and the series also stars Taylour Paige (Zola), Jovan Adepo (Fences), Chris Chalk (Perry Mason), James Remar (Dexter), Stephen Rider (Daredevil), Madeleine Stow (Revenge), Rudy Mancuso (Música), Miles Ekhardt (Turtles All the Way Down), Mikkal Karim-Fidler (Boy in the Walls), Kimberly Guerrero (Reservation Dogs), Clara Stack (The Naughty Nine), Jack Molloy Legault (Interstellar Ella), Luke Beattie, Redden Callaghan, and Tom Hulshof.
The series is developed for television by filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti (IT, IT Chapter Two) and Jason Fuchs (IT Chapter Two, Wonder Woman). Andy Muschietti directs multiple episodes of the original series.
