Netflix today dropped first look images and the official trailer for the upcoming shark thriller, THRASH, starring Phoebe Dynevor (Bridgerton, Fair Play), Whitney Peak (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Home Before Dark), and Djimon Hounsou (A Quiet Place II, Blood Diamond). The film premieres April 10 on the streaming platform.

Written and directed by Tommy Wirkola (Violent Night, The Trip), THRASH takes place during a Category 5 hurricane that decimates a coastal town bringing devastation, chaos, and, of course, sharks. The cast also includes Matt Nable (Apple Cider Vinegar, Riddick), Andrew Lees (Unfriended: Dark Web, Roswell, New Mexico), Alyla Browne (Sting, The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart), Stacy Clausen (Leviticus, Scrublands), and Dante Ubaldi.

“I became obsessed with sharks after Jaws—and Jaws 2, which is an underrated movie. I spent a lot of my childhood obsessing over sharks and whatever movie was made about that subject. Fast forward to a world going off its rails when it comes to global warming and flash floods happening everywhere, and it dawned on me that this could be a great setting-off point for a movie, combining the idea of a disaster-movie with a shark-thriller,” writer-director Tommy Wirkola tells Netflix.

Wirkola produces alongside Adam McKay (The Chair Company, Vice) and Kevin Messick (Succession, Motherland: Fort Salem).
