Dug and Mr. Fredricksen are coming back to the big screen as Pixar today released the official trailer for the upcoming theatrical short, Carl’s Date, which will premiere June 16 exclusively in theaters in front of Disney and Pixar’s Elemental.

Written and directed by Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Bob Peterson (Dug Days, Up) and produced by Kim Collins, Carl’s Date follows Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Ed Asner) and his lovable talking dog, Dug (voiced by Peterson), who were introduced in Pixar’s Oscar-winning 2009 feature Up

This new short will center on Carl as he gets ready for first a date, but gets anxious as he has no idea how dating works today. Dug steps in to help calm Carl’s nerves and prepare him for the big night in the way he knows how to as a dog.
