Netflix today dropped the official trailer for the upcoming 6-episode mystery miniseries The Perfect Couple, based on the book by Elin Hilderbrand. The Perfect Couple premieres globally on September 5, 2024.
Directed by Susanne Bier (The Undoing, Bird Box), the series stars Nicole Kidman (A Family Affair, Nine Perfect Strangers), Liev Schreiber (A Small Light, Ray Donovan), Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus, The Bold Type), Eve Hewson (Flora and Son, Bad Sisters), Dakota Fanning (The Watchers, Ripley), Ishaan Khatter (Beyond the Clouds, A Suitable Boy), Billy Howle (Under the Banner of Heaven, The Serpent), and Jack Reynor (Midsommar, The Peripheral).
Additional cast include Michael Beach (Mayor of Kingstown, DAHMER — Monster), Donna Lynne Champlin (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, The First Lady), Sam Nivola (Maestro, White Noise), Mia Isaac (Not Okay, Black Cake), and Isabelle Adjani (The King’s Favorite, Possession).
Susanne Bier (Bird Box, The First Lady) will direct all six episodes and executive produce alongside showrunner Jenna Lamia (Good Girls, No Tomorrow, Awkward). The limited series’ other executive producers include Shawn Levy for 21 Laps Entertainment (Stranger Things, Shadow and Bone), and Unsolved Mysteries), Gail Berman and Hend Baghdady for The Jackal Group, Kidman and Per Saari for Blossom Films, and Josh Barry.
The synopsis reads, “Amelia Sacks is about to marry into one of the wealthiest families on Nantucket. Her disapproving future mother-in-law, famous novelist Greer Garrison Winbury, has spared no expense in planning what promises to be the premiere wedding of the season — until a body turns up on the beach. As secrets come to light, the stage is set for a real-life investigation that feels plucked from the pages of one of Greer’s novels. Suddenly, everyone is a suspect.”
