20th Century Pictures today dropped the official trailer for the upcoming espionage thriller, The Amateur starring Rami Malek (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Laurence Fishburne (The Matrix franchise). Based on the novel by Robert Littell, with a screenplay by Ken Nolan (Black Hawk Down) and Gary Spinelli (American Made), the film is directed by James Hawes (One Life).
The Amateur will be released in theatres on April 11, 2025.
Synopsis: “Charlie Heller (Malek) is a brilliant, but deeply introverted decoder for the CIA working out of a basement office at headquarters in Langley whose life is turned upside down when his wife is killed in a London terrorist attack. When his supervisors refuse to take action, he takes matters into his own hands, embarking on a dangerous trek across the globe to track down those responsible, his intelligence serving as the ultimate weapon for eluding his pursuers and achieving his revenge.”
The Amateur also stars Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Caitríona Balfe (Belfast), Jon Bernthal (The Punisher), Michael Stuhlbarg (Your Honor), Holt McCallany (The Iron Claw), Julianne Nicholson (Mare of Easttown), Adrian Martinez (Renfield), and Danny Sapani (Black Panther).
