The official trailer for the upcoming coming-of-age dramedy, Suncoast, was released today by Searchlight Pictures. The film will debut on Hulu on February 9th, 2024. Written and directed by actress, writer, and filmmaker Laura Chinn in her feature directorial debut, Suncoast is a semi-autobiographical story based on Chinn’s teenage years in the 2000s.
Suncoast stars Laura Linney (Ozark, The Big C), Nico Parker (The Last of Us, Reminiscence), Ella Anderson (Mother’s Day, Henry Danger), Daniella Taylor (Grown-ish, Knight Squad), Amarr (Colin in Black & White, American Housewife), Ariel Martin (Zombies movies, Oracle), and Woody Harrelson (Champions, Triangle of Sadness).
The synopsis reads: “Inspired by the semi-autobiographical story of a teenager (Nico Parker) who, while caring for her brother along with her audacious mother (Laura Linney), strikes up an unlikely friendship with an eccentric activist (Woody Harrelson) who is protesting one of the most landmark medical cases of all time.”
Suncoast is produced by Jeremy Plager (Champions), Franesca Silvestri (The Florida Project, Tangerine), Kevin Chinoy (The Florida Project, Tangerine), and Oly Obst (The Resident, The Lovebirds).
