Apple TV+ today TV+ revealed the official trailer for the new drama series Sugar, starring Colin Farrell. The series will make its global debut with the first two episodes of its eight episode season on Friday, April 5th, 2024 on Apple TV+. One new episode will drop weekly every Friday.
The official synopsis reads: “Starring and executive produced by Farrell, Sugar is a contemporary, unique take on one of the most popular and significant genres in literary, motion picture, and television history: the private detective story. Academy Award-nominee Colin Farrell stars as John Sugar, an American private investigator on the heels of the mysterious disappearance of Olivia Siegel, the beloved granddaughter of legendary Hollywood producer Jonathan Siegel. As Sugar tries to determine what happened to Olivia, he will also unearth Siegel family secrets; some very recent, others long-buried.”
The series also stars Kirby (Sandman, Barry), Amy Ryan (Beau Is Afraid, The Wire), James Cromwell (Succession, Operation Buffalo), Anna Gunn (Breaking Bad, Deadwood), Dennis Boutsikaris (Better Call Saul, The Bourne Legacy), Nate Corddry (For All Mankind, Mindhunter), Sydney Chandler (Pistol, Don’t Worry Darling), and Alex Hernandez (Invasion, The Peripheral).
Sugar was created by Mark Protosevich (Thor, I Am Legend) who also executive produces, and was directed by Fernando Meirelles (City of God, Two Popes) and Adam Arkin (The Night Agent, The Offer), who both serve as also co-executive produces.
